PipeAlert is a utility that reads data from a Unix pipe and displays it in a regular Aqua window. The usefulness of such an application might not be obvious immediately, but it can be quite handy indeed, especially if used in conjunction with cronjobs. Of course there are other ways to accomplish the very same task, but none of them is as elegant as using PipeAlert.

A simple example: The result of a shell script (in this case, messages generated by htDig while indexing a website) is displayed by PipeAlert.
