Problem: You are a BBEdit user and work in a keyboard-oriented way: you have assigned lots of shortcuts to menu items and do as much as possible without even touching the mouse. But still, there are two user interface elements that are not accessible from the keyboard: the function popup and the marker popup in text windows' status bars.
Solution: Enter BBClick. It consists of three components: two very simple AppleScript (which, of course, can be assigned a keyboard shortcut) and a command-line application called "cliclick" which performs emulated mouse clicks on arbitrary screen coordinates.
Note: Eventually, BBEdit 8.5 introduced keyboard shortcuts for the function and and the marker popup menus. Hence, you do not need BBClick if you use BBEdit 8.5 or later.
System requirements
Obviously you will need BBEdit to benefit from BBClick. It should be useful in combination with any BBEdit version that supports invoking AppleScripts through keyboard shortcuts. Since BBEdit 8.5, BBClick is no longer required.
